Educate a child, prevent gender-based violence.

I-SEEED Youths, the team and beneficiaries are indeed grateful to the GlobalGiving Team, our phenomenal local and global donors who have provided us with the funds and the opportunity to continue impacting lives. 

We received a payout from the GlobalGiving platform in July, which was put towards our programs and continued building of our center. The children are booming with pride, love, laughter and are excited for this new school term that we are preparing them for. We had a successful summer camp with 254 children and seven (7) new partners who donated items for the back-to-school program.

We received more donations from our valued donors who came on board to contribute towards our cause, thank you dearly and we invite you to continue donating and sharing with your network. The team has received confirmation from one of our donors United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in building another greenhouse towards the eradication of poverty and empowerment of youths who are at-risk and have been affected by gender-based violence. This grant is one hundred twenty-five thousand (125,000 USD) which will definitely help us to do more work in this area. We have also received a great contribution from a Retired Librarian of books to read to our children and youths in general. A Fundraising event was done to raise more funds to get the building done and equipped effectively and efficiently for the children. We raised $125, 700 JMD from that event to purchase more materials for further work to be done. 

However, we are seeking more contributions in our continued efforts to finalize the center and create a lasting change for these children. Any assistance that can be afforded at this time will be greatly appreciated. We have received some children who have disabilities, as such, we are seeking more support because it is much more challenging to care for them and we cannot turn them away.

I-SEEED Youths and its team are indeed grateful for all the support that GlobalGiving and our donors have contributed to us thus far, both locally and internationally.

We have received four (4) additional funding from the GlobalGiving platform and twelve (12) from local donors since our last report, which amount to a total of 2205 USD in cash. The materials that we have received have amounted to 1322 USD and we're expecting much more. We also received a grant for the construction of a greenhouse to support the project which is 50,000 USD. We have already done the construction of same and have planted sweet peppers for sale, and the revenue will be used to fund the project.

We have also started doing classes with what we have thus far, and we have also received support from a team member to use their facility to do the classes. We are very appreciative of all the support, especially to the donors on the GlobalGiving platform who have entrusted us with their funds to get this project done. 

There has been a significant increase in the cases of deaths of children in Jamaica, because of gender-based violence, and we are doing more campaigns to raise more funds to get the facility done as soon as possible. The demand is great and we continue to support the families, especially the children who have to go back home to these toxic environments after we are through in the evenings, However, we are not daunted by the killings, we continue to stand resolute and seek all the necessary support we can, to ensure that we preserve lives, which is very important. 

We have been able to provide meals for them, which we are also grateful for because they spend over 10 hours with us during the days and it's very good to have smiles on their faces.
