Children dress for career week
Christel House Mexico celebrated Careers Week by hosting a series of talks from a diverse group of professionals who shared valuable advice and insights on various career paths. Students attended conferences featuring veterinarians, artists, engineers, business leaders and members of the CHMX board.
Every grade level participated in the week-long event, which was focused on career exploration. CHMX alumni returned to offer inspiration and guidance to the next generation of graduates. For the older students, hearing from former classmates was motivating as many graduates are now attending university, holding stable jobs and even running their own businesses. On the final day of Careers Week, the entire school was invited to “dress to impress” in outfits representing careers that inspire them.

A model for learning outside the classroom.
The Model United Nations is a crucial exercise at fostering dialogue, peaceful conflict resolution, and cultural exchange among young people. High school students from Christel House Mexico hosted their first ever Model United Nations at the American School Foundation in Mexico City.
Students were treated to a special speaker for the event – Mauricio Meschoulam, a prominent professor of International Relations, who specializes in Terrorism, Mediation and Peace. In his address to the students, he stressed the importance of promoting peace and reconciliation starting with those around us, emphasizing that it is futile to aim to save the world without first addressing our immediate environment.
The participants of the Model United Nations also enjoyed taped greetings from students at Christel House India, Christel House Jamaica, Christel House South Africa, and Christel House Indianapolis. The shared message forwarded to their Mexico classmates – “We are all global citizens.”

Flor G. joined Christel House Mexico in first grade. “Christel House has supported me immensely,” she says. Now in high school, Flor recognizes what makes her school special. “What makes a Christel House student different is this quality of taking the reins to reinforce themselves, both personally and academically.” Christel House has changed her life. "Christel House has taught me to value myself and others. I have learned to be grateful." She is amazed at her transformation as a young girl starting school. "From being nervous of coming to a new school to where I am now, I have really grown. Christel House is the best, there is no other school like it."
Flor became interested in dance taking after-school classes offered at Christel House. "I became interested and decided to try it out. I truly love dancing."
