Christel House MX Girls Enter Technology Challenge

By Amalia Howard | Digital Marketing Manager

Every year, the Technovation Challenge invites teams of girls from all over the world to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology. Two Christel House teams will compete in the Technovation Challenge, and are currently training with Christel House Mexico 2009 grad Jesus Eduardo Morales Florencio. The girls must identify a community problem, develop a mobile app solution, and create a business plan to launch the app. Both teams are developing apps to help families create budget goals and manage their money. Jesus believes this challenge is a great way to promote computer science and introduce business principles at Christel House. “Preparing children with technological skills is an important component of breaking the cycle of poverty,” he says. For Jesus, giving back as a mentor is important. “Christel House gave me the opportunity and the skills to have a better future.” 20 years after Christel House began, graduates like Jesus are proving that the Christel House Model works, and contributing to 20 more years of making the impossible possible.
