Hope Children's Home situated in the Kawangware slum of Nairobi, hosts 50 orphaned and abandoned children. On a very limited budget, the home provides upkeep and accommodation for children as young as two years. The home also facilitates their education starting from early childhood education through primary and high school. Donations towards this project will benefit 50 OVC children by providing them with education, free nutritious meals, upkeep and a suitable living environment to call home.
The number of orphans in Kenya is estimated at 2.4 million, out of which 1,149,000 are AIDS orphans (UNAIDS/NACC, 2008) yet the government does not provide assistance to these orphans. Providing care and support for OVC is one of the biggest challenges Kenya faces today, as the growing numbers overwhelm available resources. A high number of the orphans usually end up as street children given to a life of poverty, drugs and crime with no hope for education or a fair opportunity to make a living.
Donations towards this project will provide education, free nutritious meals and a suitable living environment, a home for the orphans. Provision of nutritious meals will greatly improve their health and overall development. Adequate funding will provide early childhood education for the younger children which they are not able to access right now.

Provision of nutritious meals will greatly improve their health and overall development. Access to early childhood education and later primary and high school will help prepare them tertiary education and an adult life of dignity, equal opportunity, and financial independence.
