This spring, Amani continued strengthening families through practical livelihood support, including chickens, goats, and home gardens.
These activities are directly connected to children’s education. When caregivers have more reliable sources of food and small income, they are better able to afford school supplies, uniforms, transport, and other costs that affect whether children attend and stay engaged in school.
Chickens can provide eggs for household nutrition or sale. Goats can help families build longer-term assets through breeding and pass-on support. Gardens can reduce food costs while improving access to vegetables at home. Together, these activities reduce daily financial pressure on caregivers.
For children, that stability matters. A caregiver who is less financially strained is better able to send children to school prepared, follow up on school needs, and keep education a priority even during difficult months.
Thank you for helping Amani invest in family-based care. Your support helps caregivers strengthen their households so children can remain with family, stay connected to school, and build safer futures at home.
