Despite challenges, Amani wrapped up 2020 with celebrations of academic achievement! Three of Amani’s children, Magreth, Neema, and Agape, graduated from Primary Level. The children have worked very hard throughout their primary school years and graduated with high marks in all their courses, including math and science! Hilaria and Zawadi, two other children of Amani, participated in a district-wide exam that included 35 schools in the Hai district. Among all Hai district students participating, Zawadi achieved Third Place, while Hilaria took First Place.
The ability of these children to thrive despite the chaos of the world today inspires us. Graduating from primary school is a huge achievement. In 2019, only 68% of children stay in school throughout all elementary grades and move onto secondary school. This accomplishment takes hard work - extra hours of studying, practicing skills like reading and math even when they're hard, and endless determination. Our children embody hope and resolve!
