Girls Dream Too!

By Daniele Reisbig | Development and Grants Manager

YOU are giving girls the freedom to dream!

For many girls in Uganda, dreaming about what job they could have when they graduate or even graduating from high school can feel unattainable. Girls face some pretty big challenges.

Before girls in Uganda turn eighteen...

  • 1 in 4 will have a pregnancy.
  • 1 in 3 will be married.
  • 1 in 3 will experience sexual assault.
  • 8 in 10 will not attend secondary school.
  • They will miss as many as 24 days of school every year because they don't have sanitary pads.

Girls who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS are at even greater risk than their peers.

That's why YOUR support is so important. When girls see role models like Shirah who was just accepted to Vancouver Island University on a full scholarship, they see what is possible.

Thanks to YOU, girls in Uganda have the support they need to stay in school. YOU give them quality sex education, sanitary napkins so they can stay in school, and free education. Every girl who attends YOUR new Nyaka Vocational Secondary School is promised support if she becomes pregnant so she can remain in school.

YOU are making a difference for girls today and generations from now.

Thank YOU!

YOU can help YOUR students reach their dreams!

July 15th (Next Wednesday)
