Educate the Future Leaders of Sierra Leone

Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) did a recent analysis of the academic performance of Kamawornie students who receive educational support through Develop Africa.  The focus was on English Language and Mathematics, two critical subjects that determine university acceptance in Sierra Leone. These subjects are required for all public exams, yet they remain a significant barrier for many students seeking higher education.

The analysis showed that in Kamawornie, 80% of students performed at an average level, while only 20% achieved excellence.

The academic performance analysis suggests providing additional support and resources to include extra tutoring sessions, mentorship programs, or access to educational materials that cater to different learning styles.

The children at the R.E.C. School on Banana Island proudly hold school supplies, including notebooks, colored pencils, and other learning materials. They stand with big smiles, expressing their gratitude with a handmade sign that reads, “Thank You Develop Africa.”
