Colorful Posters: Visual Learning is Empowering Kamawornie Students

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

At Kamawornie Nursery School in Sierra Leone, learning has become even more exciting and impactful, thanks to your generous support.

Recently, the school received a set of vibrant, educational posters designed to spark curiosity and reinforce early childhood learning. These posters include essential classroom basics like the days of the week, months of the year, numbers, colors, and more. The Kamawornie teacher goes over the days of the week and numbers, and the students also recite the months of the year in this video from their new posters.

In early education, visual aids play a crucial role in how young minds absorb and retain information. At Kamawornie Nursery School, these posters serve as daily reference points, helping students grasp fundamental concepts through repetition, recognition, and fun.

Your support helped make this possible. These seemingly small resources—posters on a wall—are igniting curiosity, building confidence, and expanding minds. They’re turning classrooms into vibrant spaces of discovery and growth.

We’re so proud to see Kamawornie’s students thriving and so grateful to you for being a part of their journey. With every new lesson, they are one step closer to becoming the informed, empowered leaders their communities need.

Let’s keep learning alive and bright—together.
