The voice of freedom #8M

We have talked about the reality of insecurity that exists in the city of San Cristóbal and the need to continue training with working girls, boys and adolescents for the promotion and defense of their rights, but in this quarter we have focused on promoting the rights of girls and adolescent women, within the framework of #8M, Melel has accompanied a training process to encourage them to say what they think and generate proposals for change.

One of the fundamental rights is to live a life free of violence. From 2015 to 2022, 268 femicides were recorded in Chiapas, of which 23% were of girls and adolescents. San Cristóbal is the first place in the state.

It is necessary to create spaces for dialogue between men and women, to reduce violence and especially gender violence, which is why on March 8, a group of girls and adolescents were accompanied to march for their rights, as well as to reflect with adolescent men how gender violence can be eliminated.

In the following internet link you can find a video with the song that the girls and adolescents created to raise their voices and defend their rights:

Greetings to you and yours.

Thank you.
