The Swedish government will host World Environment Day 2022 in partnership with the UN Environment Program (UNEP). Per Bolund, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, said that they are proud to host 2022 World Environment Day. Proud. the world community to join in the important discussions and the celebration of Environment Day. World Environment Day was established in 1972 by the United Nations at the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment (5-16 June 1972), which was considered the result of
discussions based on human interaction and the integration of the environment. Two years later, in 1974, the first World Environment Day was held with the theme "Only One Earth". World Environment Day is a major event of the United Nations. This day is a pledge to keep the
environment healthy through global awareness and action. Which has been celebrated since 1974. The UNO Environment Department leads the world in protecting eco-friendly / sustainable development resources. About 150 countries around the world participate in this program.

Quarterly Report

Last Friday in 25-02-2022 BERDO organized 2022 year’s annual picnic at Shyamol Bangla resort in keranigonz,Dhaka. In that picnic BERDO’s Executive director Md. Saidul Huq ,Deputy director Maksuda Aktar ,Selim Uddin,Advocate Mosharaf Hossain Mazumdar,Kalpana Aktar,Rahima Patoary,Pobon Richel,Masuma Akter along with all employees of BERDO’s head office and Gazipur branch, students of BERDO school and other invited guests were present.

BERDO started it’s journey at 8:30 am in the morning by a double decker bus. Tow sound systems were arranged. Everyone was enjoying music. at 10:30 am the vehicle arrived at keranigonz Shyamol Bangla resort via hemayetpur. Resort provided two large deluxe rooms to rest. After breakfast and coffee some enjoyed several rides and some became busy with chatting. Specially the scene of students having bath in the swimming pool was noticeable. From young to elder everyone enjoyed the fascinating rides.

At 2:30 pm everyone had there lunch. After that at 3:30 pm everyone expressed their feelings on the stage provided by the resort. At that time BERDO’s Executive Director gave his greeting speech for the cultural program. Invited guests, employees and students performed in that program. A happy moment was created and everyone enjoyed beyond boundaries. evening snacks were served to continue the rhythm.

Lottery draw was arranged and 32 people were selected as winners. After a dreamlike day at 6:30 pm BERDO departed from Shyamol Bangla resort.

BERDO arranged a day long cultural program, discussion meeting along with walking Bare-foot and adorned in black-and-white, they placed floral wreaths at the monument and stood in silent remembrance those who embraced martyrdom to make Bangla the state language in 1952.

At the very early morning BERDO’s Executive Director Md. Saidul Huq placed flowers at the shahid minar to pay homage to the language. After that organization’s Deputy Director Maksuda Aktar and Shahid Ullah, Teachers, managers along with other employees and students placed flowers to remember martyrs.

After that a discussion meeting took place in BERDO’s meeting room. Every students of BERDO residential school and employees were present in that meeting. Honorable Executive Director Md. Saidul Huq gave an inspiring speech by up righting the history of language movement and urged everyone of home and abroad to pay proper respect to our mother tongue by using it in the right way. Following that BERDO’s Deputy Director Shahid Ullah, Maksuda Aktar and others also expressed their feelings.

At a moment “amar vai er rokte rangano ekushe february” by singing this song a cultural program took place. BERDO’s music teacher helped the students to run the program. everyone praised the program.At the end BERDO’s Executive Director Md. Saidul Huq thanked everyone and called off the meeting.
