The INFEST Foundation held coordination meetings and program evaluations with community partners in Ponorogo and Blitar. The activity was held at the KOPI Ponorogo Secretariat and attended by 35 participants, representing six community groups from six villages. In addition to evaluating ongoing programs, the meeting also aimed to develop and finalize the work plan for the current year.
The first session began with participant introductions and a brief explanation of the meeting objectives. Participants were then encouraged to reflect on the implementation of programs throughout the last year as a basis for planning activities for the upcoming year.
The second session focused on group-based program evaluations, with participants divided into three main divisions: Economic Empowerment, Organizational Development, and Advocacy. Each group reviewed program achievements and challenges from the last year and formulated work plans for the forthcoming year.
The Economic Empowerment Division identified several key challenges, including limited access to capital, insufficient promotion, difficulties in recruiting staff, limited product variety, and price instability. Based on these findings, the division developed a work plan that includes strengthening cooperative business units, developing a cooperative-owned wholesale store, establishing an iced tea kiosk, providing capital investment support for cooperative members, and organizing basic computer operation training.
The Organizational Development Division highlighted issues related to weak time discipline in routine meetings, limited cadre regeneration, and ineffective implementation of previous work meetings. The division also emphasized the need for regular coordination with relevant government agencies. Planned activities include secretariat management training, digital documentation management training using Google Drive, regular coordination meetings among village-level KOPI administrators across Ponorogo, and quarterly work meetings for KOPI Ponorogo leadership.
The Advocacy Division evaluated several cases handled in the last year, including the Triono case, a suspected human trafficking case (TPPO), and the Djamiati case. The evaluation focused on case progress, coordination with relevant institutions, and challenges encountered during the advocacy process, particularly limitations related to social security protection for migrant workers.
The third session consisted of presentations of group discussion results. All divisions agreed on the evaluation outcomes and committed to implementing their respective work plans in accordance with the jointly agreed timeline.
