Background
Action10 together with Human Rights & Science (HR&S) aim to raise funds to decrease poverty in the Kibera slum through increased employment and business activities. The Kibera slum in Kenya suffers from low employment and high poverty rate where the latter is as high as 50%. By supporting local business operations we will contribute to an increased standard of living in the area.
Project update
Marketing is a central function of most consumer-facing businesses. However, it could also be difficult for some small businesses to find time and resources to prioritise it. Our very much appreciated member of Team Kenya, Mr Kelvin GITAU, has kindly agreed to personally help empower the marketing and customer outreach skills of Mr Fredrick ATING'A, Founder & CEO of Dolas Creation, and his team. Mr GITAU is a professional SEO consultant, Web developer, and a UX/UI Designer. Mr Frederick has explicitly requested for this type of support, as he sees the scaling of the number of customers as his main outcome challenge, despite that his design and products are very appreciated among the present customers. We hope that the support with the marketing function will further help the business to progress and improve from here.
