We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has been successfully working for women empowerment. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation, through its efforts establishes self-help groups for economic empowerment of women and provides them financial aid through self-help groups. The organization has been managing the project for last 4 years under which more than 1600 women got benefitted. The project has been successfully running in 70 rural regions near Aravali ranges in Ajmer. Under the project, women are organized through self-help groups and then associated with bank and provide them help to get loan from bank at low rate of interest. The amount of loan helps such women to step up to self-employment and start their own source of livelihood.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan takes meeting of members of the self-help groups every month where organization provides information about government and financial projects to the members. The organization also manages various trainings as capacity building, financial literacy training and life skill development at times for capacity building of women. These additional trainings build capacity of the beneficiaries also improve their life skill. The project managed by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, in the collaboration of GlobalGiving Foundation reflects positive impacts among the beneficiary women. we are sharing the success stories of 4 women out of all beneficiary women.

Impact Story :- Nausar belongs to deprived community resides at a remote village in Pisangan block. 34 years old Nausar, just after being married, has always been depended upon her family members for managing financial requirements. She has to depend upon the family members even for personal requirements. She felt like begging the family members even for small amount of money to meet the basic requirements. Nausar wanted to start self-employment but she couldn't do anything due to financial restrictions. After some time, Nausar came to know about the project being managed by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and then she got associated with Balaji self-help group.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan formed Balaji self-help group which afterwards was linked with bank. After some time, women members of the self-help group got loan from bank. Nausar was one of them, who utilized the amount of loan to start self-employment unit as started business of making tulsi rosary (tulsi ki mala) and fancy rosary. She buys raw material from market and makes the rosaries at her place and sells them in whole-sale market which gets her a good earning.

Today, Nausar has been renowned in the village as a potential personality who earns Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 9,000 per month. In short, we can say that Nausar has become self-dependent. Now, she is able to nurture her children in better ways and to provide them better education. She also joined other poor women in her business and provided them an opportunity to earn for them and their families. The project has brought positive changes to Nausar's life and she has become an inspiration for other women.

Impact Story :- My name is Rukma and I am 38 years old. I have grown up facing the conditions of financial crisis. As my family was not aware of importance of education, I had to leave my study incomplete. Being deprived from education, I used to do household chores and graze goats. After some time, I got married in my childhood and I had lost all my freedom after being married. I had to face may problems among which financial problem was major one. Being deprived from education, I couldn't do anything to feel good. I wanted to be self-reliant, but I couldn't manage anything due to financial problems. Thus, I was confined in home and all my dreams got scattered.

After sometime, I came to know about the project being run by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organized needy women through self-help groups and associated the group with bank. The bank sanctioned loan for the members of the self-help group. I was one of them who got the loan which I utilized to start animal husbandary and bought a buffalo. I started selling its milk which earned me some income at initial level.

Now, its been 2 years I have associated with the self-help group and I got another loan sanctioned from the bank through self-help group and I bought 2 more buffaloes and goats using the amount of loan. Now, I have total 8 milk giving cattles and I sell their milk in my village. Now, my dairy business is growing for which the credit goes to Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation. Now, I have become self-reliant and also able to nurture my children in better way. I thank Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation and all the donors for their support and help that made me able to become self-reliant.

Impact Story:- Saroj resides at a remote village Picholia in Ajmer had her life full of hardships. She had been a victim of child marriage, one of many social evils. After being married she was tortured by her husband. Saroj had to beg for fulfilling basic requirements and money. Her freedom was snatched from her. She was not economically strong and had not courage to feel something good and to do some graceful in her life. She was not able to nurture her children properly and couldn't provide them better education.

Saroj, through one of her friends, came to know about self-help group project of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan. She was interested and got associated with self-help group. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan formed 'Kiran' self-help group in which Saroj became a member and she got a loan at low rate of interest from bank through the self-help group. She utilized the amount of loan to start self-employment.

She started cultivation of azola grass at her place. After some time, she sold the yield to stock farmers and started earning. Saroj invested a part of the earnings in business that helped her to grow the businees.

Now, Saroj is cultivating azola grass at a large scale that has adequate demand in market and sold at high value. Saroj has been associated with the self-help group for last 2 years and getting benefitted. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan takes meeting of the group at times where Saroj tells her success story that inspires other women. Saroj thanks Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation from the bottom of heart for making her self-reliant.

Impact Story :- The story of success of Sarla, resides at village Bhudwada situated at lower region of Aravali ranges in Ajmer in her words is her words :

My name is Sarla and I'm 36 years old. I had never any sort of relation with education since childhood and did grazing cattles. After being married I got busy in domestic life. I had to face sort of problems in my married life. My husband who did labour couldn't earn enough to meet basic requirements of the family. I wanted to contribute to meet family expenditure, but I hadn't any source of income and I couldn't do anything. My family income was not sufficient to start an employment. The expenditure of children's education and nurturing was my responsibility. I was totally disappointed with my life.

It was then I used to imprecated curse on my life, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan brought a ray of hope to my life. "Roshni", a self-help group, was formed by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation and I became a member of it. Being a member of the self-help group, after some time the bank sanctioned me a loan at low rate of interest. Then, I started the business of making baskets, stools and brooms of cane with the amount of loan. Initially, I faced some problems as I didn't get market for selling my products but after getting proper market I started earning a good income by selling my products.

Now, it's been 3 years I have joined the self-help group and every year I got a loan sanctioned from the bank which I utilize as an investment in my business and repay the installments of the loan at time. Now, I look after my family better than ever. I have full support of my husband that has brought confidence to me. I have become self-reliant for which the entire credit goes to GlobalGiving Foundation and all the donors. I thank Rajathan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan for their support through which I could build my preset and future.

RSKS India GG Field Visit Report!!

It is a matter of great happiness that The GlobalGiving Evaluation team has selected RSKS India operated projects this year during yearly "GlobalGiving India Field Programme"!! We have had discussion about so many significant issues during this day. field evaluation visit and got on opportunity to learn something new. The details of the Evaluation Visit Report & experience prepared by Ajay, members of the evaluation team, is mentioned below...........

Hello Donors,

My name is Ajay, a GlobalGiving India Field Intern for the year of 2018. In addition to being a GlobalGiving Field Intern, I am also in the process of setting up my own non-profit in the state of Rajasthan (same as that of RSKS India).

This year's India Field Interns will travel around the country and visit more than 100 of GlobalGiving's non-profit partners across India. These visits help to show how organizations are using funds to create positive change in their communities, which helps to ensure the high quality of the non-profit community on GlobalGiving.

Usually, these visits are held once every two years. RSKS had been visited by a Field Intern just last year in 2017 but was allotted to me by my Co-ordinator Kavita as she felt there was a lot of scope for me learn from RSKS, especially considering the work that I would be doing in the near future. I am very grateful to my Co-ordinator Kavita for that decision of hers as it gave me an opportunity to get a glimpse into the stupendous work carried out by RSKS India.

For me, RSKS did not feel like an organization but rather like a very large family spread across a wide area. The team at RSKS is highly motivated, dedicated, inspired and invested in the amazing work they are doing. They were in perfect symbiosis leveraging each other’s strengths in creating long lasting positive impact on their constituents. The constituents they are working with are deeply involved in the process of ideation-planning-execution of the numerous projects run by RSKS. It also helps in a major way that a lot of individuals on the staff are from the communities itself where the projects are run, thus ensuring a smooth relations and communications between RSKS and the people.

On the day of my visit, the incumbent CEO, Mr Deepak Sharma, was kind enough to drive us to a number of remote locations showcasing the different projects run by the RSKS. Some of these included: Make a wish project - For street children, Beauty Parlour Vocational education Training for Women, Save the Sparrow programme, Tailoring Training for Women, Tree Plantation, Paathshala Education program for children, Udaan School for Women, Monthly Grocery Distribution for elderly women among others.

I was especially inspired and moved by the Udaan School for women. A Middle-School qualification in India opens up doors for a lot of schemes and opportunities and the Udaan project does just that. It supports women of any age, background or marital status to complete their Middle School and get certified, opening up a plethora of opportunities for them. And the most inspiring facet about the Udaan project is that the teachers have cultivated and inspired their students so much that the women are already thinking of trying for a High School certification and some even for a Graduate Degree.

Overall, my visit to RSKS was highly inspiring, humbling and motivating. The kind and quality of work they are doing has raised the standards to a level I didn't even know existed and their sense of possibility is on a scale worth appreciating and learning from. And you, the Donor, have no small part to play in this, as RSKS runs mostly on funds raised online and squeezing out the most from each Dollar/Pound/Rupee raised.

RSKS were outstandingly transparent about their Financials and thus you can rest assured that your donations are being put to very good use. RSKS is a highly credible organization, I recommend them wholeheartedly and wish them the best for their work!

Lessons Learn From Failure Story !

Tribal family's standard of living

'In an effort to increase transparency and build a culture of openness and learning, GlobalGIving has invited nonprofit partners to share a story of when they tried something new that didn’t go as planned, and more importantly, what they learned and how they improved. Here is our story. Enjoy!'

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan is committed for the empowerment of target beneficiaries and for the impact of the project. In the series, the organization has been experimenting significantly for introducing improvements to the program at times and still committed to continue the experiments in future. Here, we share some experiments with you, that are - - -

Some years ago, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan in collaboration with the Government , distributed sewing machine, mason tool kit, painting tool kit and other implements free of cost to tribal community for their employment or livelihood. In year 2008, when the organization had post-study for the follow-up and collected information amnd feedback from the beneficiaries, village official, and RSKS Team we came to know that the individual, who got a particular tool or tool-kit, doesn’t know to do the work or to use the kit. That’s why better utilization of these costly implements didn’t happen to be possible and the so-called beneficiaries didn’t get benefit from the implements.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan is determined to empower target beneficiaries through feedback and information. As is it most required for the success of any work and its positive impact to have complete and meaningful information regarding the matter. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan always strives to empower the beneficiaries throughout the project from beginning to follow-up. The following example reflects the organization’s approach as follows:---

In order to the reformation of this programme for the beneficiaries of tribal communities RSKS Invited following feedbacks from the village officials, staff, & beneficiary / stakeholder these as follows-

*. Before providing the free instruments to the tribal community they should be trained in the skill trade through vocational education.

*. Along with skill development training they provided training of Life Skill and EDP & capacity building so their leadership and decision capacity and entrepreneurship would be develop.

*. Time to Time the village officials and organization team must be do the regular follow up of the beneficiaries and if requires so they providing better guidance, advise and suggestions.

On the basis of the information and feedback, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan had a meeting with the concerning Govt. department and performed a minor experiment. In the experiment, we decided to provide some skill development training to these tribal men/women and when they pass the examination, free equipment's/tools will be given to them.

As we expected, tribal people started utilizing the implements efficiently for their livelihood after being trained in a particular trade. They got better livelihood which made them living a improved life.
