We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.
Millions of tons myrobalan (Gooseberry) is produced nearby regions of the pious city Pushkar, but the producers (farmers) don't get reasonable value of the produce which forces them to sell myrobalan at lower rates.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan took a unique initiative and employed 3 self-help groups of village Karel near Pushkar in the processing of myrobalan (Gooseberry). Total 16 women members of the self-help groups are processing the myrobalan produce. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has been adminstering successfully all 3 self-help groups for last 3 years. We conduct a meeting of all 3 self-help groups every month where we get information of the work done by women members and provide them with information about financial and government schemes.
The Managing Director of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan motivates the women members of the self-help groups to start the processing of myrobalan produce in which first they boil myrobalan to sterlize it and then they extract its seeds and dry it. Afterwards, they produce powder, marmalade and candies with the dry myrobalan and sell the products to companies.
The entire processing gets them an earning of Rs. 300 to Rs. 400 per day. The women members are working together with the support of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation and positive changes have been noticed in their living standard. Beyond caste & religion, they focus to become self-reliant. They also have plans for near future to produce their own myrobalan products as candies, powder, marmalade, juice, etc. and to sell the products in market.
