Delay to achieve our goals due to limited funds.

By Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana | Project Leader

Dear Patrons,
Thank you very much for the support you have offered so far, which has contributed a lot to empowering the Batwa community in Rwanda.
So far, we have raised 185 $, and we have used this money to support pottery activities. As, we have shared previously above 80% of a marginalized group, "Abatwa" live in chronic poverty with different negative consequences (effects) secondary to chronic poverty such as malnutrition, hygiene-related diseases, infectious diseases, and low education level. The Abatwa's educational level remains the lowest and the dropout rate the highest in Rwanda. According to the survey conducted by COPORWA, only 34% of Batwa had attended school, less than 1% of secondary school, and no one had completed higher education.
The project needs to offer to about 1,000 Abatwa, a platform to further their education and improve the Batwa group's socio-economic status through personal talent development and income generation micro-projects. The project also will provide basic literacy skills in reading and writing for out-of-school youth and parents, but till now we were unable to start these humanitarian activities, and we hope to start the implementation if funds are available in the following two months.

We thank you for all the support and we request you donate generously to our indigenous empowerment project so that we can achieve our goals. You could also consider making a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work. We thank you for everything that you have done for our project, and we look forward to your continued support.

Thanks and Best Regards.
