At what age did you learn how to format text - making it bold, change the size and color? We are delighted to share with you a video from the Develop Africa computer lab where one of the girls - Josephine, walks us through what she has learned - how to open a document and format text. She proudly shows us what has she has absorbed, skillfully demonstrating her knowledge.
Background information about Josephine: Josephine is a pupil at the FAWE primary school. Her favorite subject is English Language and her hobby is reading novels. She wants to be a banker when she grows. Her father is deceased and she has four sisters, three brothers. One of her uncles is a baker and the main provider of the home with monthly income of $100 - not enough to cover the basic needs of the home. Josephine wanted to become computer literate as this will help prepare her for her chosen career as a banker.
Josephine is currently thirteen years old. While you may know of children her age that are more proficient than her, we are humbled and delighted to be able to provide this training to her. Considering that there are many children and youths in Africa that are not able to do what she demos, we are over-joyed that she has already mastered this. Such training is in high demand in Africa.
Josephine's Expertise: Josephine has not only learned this how to do this - but she is also able to walk us through this effortlessly and effectively! She is clearly very competent at this. "Thank you for the demo and Congratulations Josephine!"
Together, as donors and supporters, we have laid a solid computer proficiency foundation in the lives of Josephine and many others. We are deeply grateful for your on-going support that enables us to do this and so much more. Thanks so much!
Helps Us Train More Girls: As the calendar year draws to a close we would like to invite you to make a special gift towards expanding our training sessions. This would enable us to train many more girls like Josephine. Imagine the impact we are creating on the next generation! We also have the opportunity to open another lab at a community center and welcome your support. Please also consider signing up for a recurring donation of $10, $25 or more. This would help us do so much more. Thanks for your support!
