Dear Project Supporters,
Since our last report, the number of FAWE Primary School class four and class five pupils attending computer training has increased. Class six pupils have taken the National Primary School Examination (NPSE) completing their classes.
The kids still participating in computer class at the lab are excited to learn.
Topics covered at the computer lab for class four and class five includes: an introduction to computers covering its history and importance, computer equipment features and how to use them, and how to use Microsoft Word software.
Classes are held three times per week for 2 hour sessions with extra time to assist the pupils with note taking.
In commemoration of the 2015 Girls in ICT, themed "Expanding Horizons and Changing Attitudes", the Chief Executive Officer of Phase3 Telecom, Mr. Stanley Jegede said - Early education, digitalized training as well as developing technology skills for women and harnessing those skills promptly, are critical to Africa's rapid socio-economic development and sustainability." - Digital Training Key to Active Participation of Girls in ICT
A girl in class six at FAWE called Marion said “We are in the blessed period of our primary school life because the computer facility we enjoy cannot be found in most schools in Sierra Leone.”
With YOUR help, more girls like Marion will benefit from computer training at FAWE.
Thanks so much. We appreciate YOU!
Best Wishes,
Develop Africa team
