Turning Street Lives into School Dreams

By Azeem Christopher | Project Leader

AWARD Pakistan continues to strengthen its efforts to enroll and retain out-of-school and dropout children in the education system across rural areas of Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh. Beyond enrollment, the focus remains on ensuring that children stay engaged, confident, and motivated to continue their education.

During this reporting period, social mobilizers maintained close coordination with enrolled children and their families, providing ongoing support and guidance. To promote confidence and social development, a Sports Day was organized, where children actively participated in games and team activities. For many, this was their first experience of such engagement, helping build self-esteem, teamwork, and a stronger sense of belonging in school.

As part of strengthening early education pathways, 100 preschool students from AWARD’s program were successfully transitioned into government schools. This step ensures continuity in learning and reduces the risk of future dropouts.

To sustain impact, regular follow-up and monitoring visits were conducted in schools and communities. Attendance, progress, and challenges are continuously assessed to ensure that children remain enrolled and do not return to child labor.

Impact Highlight

Children are showing increased confidence, improved attendance, and greater interest in education. Parents report positive behavioral changes and renewed hope for their children’s future, reflecting a shift toward valuing education within communities.

Way Forward

AWARD Pakistan aims to expand enrollment efforts, strengthen retention strategies, and continue regular monitoring to ensure long-term educational outcomes. With sustained support, the program will further contribute to reducing child labor and promoting quality education for vulnerable children.
