Amani's on-site garden helps us ensure we have a fresh supply of vegetables and greens for the children. It's a big improvement over the beans and corn diet that most people in our area rely on. As many children come to us suffering from the consequences of chronic nutritional deficiencies, it's vital that Amani can provide fresh produce month-in and month-out.
This winter, all hands were on deck to plan our center's garden. The kids love a chance to get muddy and play! The garden acts as a place to watch the natural sciences in action. The children learn about plant growth and the rain cycle in school, and then watch it come to life before their very eyes. We've got quite a lot of green thumbs over here!
Thank you for planting seeds for a brighter future at Amani!
