To provide the best possible entrepreneurial training to our cooking apprentices, Bio-Benin's facilitator, Guillaume Lonhoudjo, has added new courses that prepare students to manage their own business. The art of serving clients well, knowing enough English to describe dishes, business and people management and the discipline to stick to a budget and control costs using a computer, all form part of the 18-month training Bio-Benin now provides our students thanks to your support.
Students are also delighted to learn pastry making, the art of plating dishes and bar management including making cocktails, from new instructors brought into the program to broaden its appeal. We have no difficulty recruiting students to fill the available slots and have just welcomed 11 new students to follow our entrepreneurial training for the next 18 months.
The government now feels that our training is so good they have reduced it from 3 years to 18 months. This means that with your help we can encourage even more students to start their own business and make a living wage that provides dignity and the means to support their own families.
