Students being engaged in Poetry
Other than engaging students to participate in saying poems those are meant to improve on their language skills like vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency, at the same time developing memory, creativity, and emotional expression; through oral recitation and performance of poetry at the Institute of Home Economics of Kole Intellectual Forum students make the language learning more engaging and has helped them to improve on their ability to write and to make comprehensive complex ideas.
Through this learning processes, in language and literacy development; these students are:
- Enhancing vocabulary and comprehension: Poetry exposes them to a wide range of words and their different shades of meaning, which improves both their vocabulary and their ability to understand language.
- Improving on their speaking and listening skills: by reciting poetry they develop a student's oral skills, such as pronunciation and expressive reading, and encouraging them to be active in listening to rhythm and sound.
- Supporting literacy: through oral poetry and nursery rhymes, these have helped them to build a foundational foundation for early literacy, helping them to learn language sooner and better.
- Stimulating creativity: by engaging them in poetry, the students are encouraged to play with words in the language she is using and these have helped them to find new relationships between words, sounds, and ideas.
