Dear Donor,
After some months of internal tensions, Kenya's general election was held on 9 August 2022. As reported by the BBC, after polls closed the election day, many Kenyans marveled at how quickly results started populating an online portal run by the electoral commission - a process that had often been beset by controversy and suspect delays in previous polls. On August 15, Mr. William Ruto, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, was declared the winner. The new president will face challenges in confronting regional instability, youth unemployment, inflation, and the economic consequences of both the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s war on Ukraine. The ongoing Covid-19crisis has devastated many livelihoods across Kenya. A large number of individuals and families lost some or all of their sources of income, with business closures and job losses.
The area in which the village of our project is located is facing strong tensions due to internal turmoil and regional conflicts that involve the bordering countries. Due to this security emergency, people on the field report the great difficulty in receiving essential goods. That’s why our support to the local population and in particular to orphans or abandoned children in the villages of the municipality of Nginda is precious for their human, emotional and social growth and for the empowerment of the entire community.
We are grateful for your help!
