Spring Update

Thank you for giving the gift of opportunity to children living with the legacy of war in central Vietnam.
Ethnic minority kids in rural Quang Tri live in extreme poverty, an issue that is compounded by the presence of explosive remnants of war. The children who benefit from PeaceTrees Vietnam's scholarship program come from families who struggle to fulfill even their most basic needs.
Your gift to this campaign is addressing the critical need for education in remote, largely ethnic minority communities in Quang Tri. Without the educational lifeline that a scholarship provides, these kids would be left to face an uncertain future.
A $50 donation will fully fund a child's education for the 2017-2018 school year, including a uniform, school fees, books and other necessary supplies. We are only $3,800 away from reaching our goal, and we hope that you will continue to stand in partnership with us by providing kids in Quang Tri with the tools they need to succeed!

It's A New School Year
By Rebecca Giovannozzi | Program Coordinator

With your support, we have provided 253 scholarships to children in Quang Tri Province through this campaign since 2014--thank you for your investment in our work! As our dedicated demining teams keep working to clear the land of unexploded ordnance, we hope that you will continue to stand with these families by providing educational opportunity for their children.
When families cannot be confident in the safety of their farmland, not knowing if dangerous munitions are sitting just below the topsoil in their rice paddies, their ability to use the land to support their family and fund their children’s education all but vanishes. The children who benefit from PeaceTrees Vietnam's scholarship program come from families who struggle to fulfill even their most basic needs.
With a $50 dollar donation, you can fund a child to go to school for the entire 2016-2017 school year, providing their uniform, books and food that will allow them to succeed in school. A strong educational foundation will allow these children to have brighter futures, all because of you. Thank you for your continued support!
Warmly,
The Team at PeaceTrees Vietnam

Reaching Our Goal
By Rebecca Giovannozzi | Program Coordinator

This summer has been a hot one so far! Our kindergartens continue to provide food, education and a safe space for the children of Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. This April we broke ground on a new kindergarten, the Friends Forever Kindergarten! It is projected to open in September, just in time for the start of the 2016-2017 school year.
Thanks to your incredible support and continued dedication, we have almost reached our goal of raising $15,000 in scholarships! Unexploded ordnance threatens the safety of children and continues to affect families' economic and physical health. Children are thus often malnourished and undereducated, especially those coming from ethnic minority families in the remote areas of central Vietnam. Our kindergartens help provide a safe place for children to build a strong and healthy learning foundation, so that children ages 3 to 5 are able to succeed in primary school. We are currently $4000 shy of our goal and know that with your help, we can make the safe futures of these children a reality.
In Gratitude,
The PeaceTrees Vietnam Team
