Give Hope to the Poor

Dear Donor,

Although the COVID-19 situation seems to be getting better, the effect of lockdowns, drop in sales, job loss, is still very much being felt. Businesses that shut or scaled down during Covid-19 are by and large not re-opening.

Feeding a hungry family helps them get through difficult times in their lives, transitions. These can include losses of job, death, any uncertainty. As we have been meeting families one by one and speaking to them, their stories can break your heart.

Your generosity and donations have been so impactful, feeding families that have noble intent to work and earn money, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we're not able to earn a living during this time.

We are currently fundraising for these times were people need most the most. We have a waitlist of more than 1000 families.

Ration Distribution for the marginalized workers and unemployed in the state of Goa

Dear Patrons,

It is with deep gratitude that we write to you to share an update on how your support enabled us to reach out to some of the most vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 crisis in India. With your generous support towards El Shaddai’s COVID-19 food Relief project, we reached out to poor and migrant workers and families and provided them with food and hygiene kit to support during this critical time. The outpouring of generosity and support from Global Givers has been phenomenal.

As the pandemic swept through India, El Shaddai initiated the COVID-19 food Relief project to raise funds to support resource-poor families and vulnerable communities who needed urgent food and hygiene supplies.

El Shaddai seeks out all the possible ways to help the under privileged, these are the grocery kits distributed to the needy people in different places throughout the slums of Goa.

We focus on the marginalized people and try to help them to feed their hunger. This grocery kits consists of all the needful groceries and daily sustenance of the people in slums such as Rice, Oil, Rava, Poha, Chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Toor Dal, Moong Dal, Tooth Paste, Tooth brush, Napkins, Sanitizer and bathing soap and etc

Dry Ration and hygiene is distributed every month in places like Calangute, Mapusa, Panjim, Chimbel, Birla - Vasco, Margao

From the month Of October ’21 to Dec’21 around 459 bags were distributed in the places mentioned above and people from various slums in these areas come and collect their bags on a particular date and the same information of the ration distribution will be intimated to them a day in prior.

With your support, we have successfully distributed ration to these families. To all of us at El Shaddai, you are our real heroes and we thank you for helping us reach out to those people who desperately need our help. We could not have done this without your support. Feed the Poor to Survive the Pandemic Period

Dear Friends,

In the battle against COVID-19, rural areas and slum communities were always the most vulnerable with inadequate food, shelter, hygiene facilities and lack of awareness. Unlike the first wave, the second wave has travelled deeper in backward areas of India and spreading much faster.

Though the funds were short, El Shaddai meets the basic needs of the underprivileged which includes all the base level groceries needed by a family for a month. In addition, we put in soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair oil, sanitizers, masks, and sanitary pads in hard to reach communities in Goa like Porvorim, Panjim, Mapusa, Calangute, Chimbel, Margao and Vasco.

Frome the month of June, we have supported around 601 families, on an average 2,404 people are benefited from June till date with this project. The waitlist seems never ending. We reach to the nearest point of the residence of the slum people with all the bags in a pickup truck and inform them the previous day to come and collect the dry ration bags.

Thank you all for your support that includes prayers and donations at this time. We do hope that we can count on your continued support for this important COVID-19 relief work.

The people who received the kits were extremely happy that they had a trustworthy source to rely upon even at the midst of their miseries. For them the nutrition kits were a great help for them to survive the pandemic period
