Sustainable daily food programs

By Dom Williams | Founder and Director

Daily Fruit
Daily Fruit

Our pledge since we started the projects many years ago was to make sure that the children weren't hungry in class hence various types of fruit and food programs were introduced to great success. Whilst we still strive to maintain this pledge another area we are working towards to give the tools to the families to be able to provide daily food themselves through sustainable plans, whether these be chickens, cows or vegetable gardens. Our other pledge is to have drinking water available.

Over the coming months and years we will be investing in family fruit trees and vegetable gardens (where space allows) as obviously, our long-term aim is to provide sustainability for the school and its costs, hence our big drive in investing in sustainable income plans, which not only benefit local families and help to cover costs of further education, though also help to cover the school’s costs, including teachers’ salaries, materials, food and fruit etc.

So to make this goal a real possibility, here is some excellent charitable news from GlobalGiving who have $110,000 to match donations by 50% from 9am EDT on Wednesday 12th July whilst funds last! If you want to support the Seven Continents Charity Challenge 2017 for sustainable income plans, please do donate to this page from the time and date stated previously and we should get 50% bonus – brilliant!

Have a fantastic summer, cheers!
