Food, Education and Emergency Support for Girls

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation for us to be able to provide food, education and hygiene support for girls. This reporting period, we focus our attention to developing a support program for teen mothers. Teen pregnancy is becoming very common in poor barrios in some of our project areas and usually they are malnourished so also with their children. Either they have no husbands or their partners are working in construction works in far cities such as Cebu and Manila. Our goal is to provide them with basic services such as nutrittious food, money in order to pay for medical check-up and nutrition for the child. This reporting period, we were able to assess the basic needs of 175 teen mothers in 3 barrios in Leyte. We were able to provide them also with vegetable seeds so that they will be able to start small gardening activities.

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project to provide food, education and hygiene for girls. This reporting period we focused our attention to those fleeing the crisis in Marawi City when ISIS-inspired extremists laid siege to the city forcing thousands of civilians to flee. We provided hygiene kits to 730 women and girls as well as food and relief items to their families. Our distribution concentrated in barrios located in the province of Misamis Oriental whose internally-displaced persons were mostly house-helpers and workers of well-off families in Marawi. Aside from the Global Giving, we were supported also by local donors and our existing partners from abroad thereby increasing our capacity to help.
