“Ding Dong! Grandpa and Granny, I’m here with the hot meal box!”
Every Monday to Friday morning, Food Angel’s Outreach Angels pay a visit to isolated elderly who live alone or are with limited mobility to deliver free hot meals. Apart from the hot meal boxes, our Outreach Angels also bring along fruits, vegetables, soup and bread to share with them.
Food Angel arranges meals according to the needs of the elderly. As some of them suffer from gout, they have to be very careful regarding what they eat. Hence, Food Angel provides a special ‘Gout Meal’ with less seafood and mushrooms, making sure that the elderly get what is suitable for them.
In fact, most of the elderly value the care and love from volunteers more than the food itself. Therefore, Outreach Angels spend time to chat with them daily to better understand their needs. We wish to not just deliver food but to share warmth, love and care!
