Saving Mothers Through Free C-Sections in Kogi

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting this life-saving project to provide free C-sections for women with high-risk pregnancies in Kogi State. Your support speaks directly to mothers who face childbirth with fear because they cannot afford medical care.

In Kogi State and other parts of Nigeria’s Middle Belt, maternal deaths remain high. Many women develop complications during labor but are unable to pay for a C-section. Public hospitals are overcrowded, while private hospitals are far beyond the reach of poor families. As a result, many women stay at home during labor, leading to preventable deaths of mothers and newborns. Nigeria accounts for nearly 20% of global maternal deaths, and timely surgery could save many of these lives.

This project aims to support 500 vulnerable women by covering the full cost of C-sections, hospital transport, and basic aftercare. By working closely with trusted local doctors and hospitals, we will ensure safe delivery and proper care for both mothers and babies.

At this time, the donations received are not yet enough to kickstart full implementation. However, we remain hopeful that continued support will allow us to begin saving lives very soon.

Thank you for standing with mothers in need.

With thanks,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
Project Leader
