The result of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) is out now, and four of the thirty-one girls have passed the exam. The remaining twenty-seven girls are retaking the exam on 14th August 2005. It’s a chance exam that provides an opportunity for those who wish to retake it. We are hopeful that a few more girls will pass. The four girls who passed on their first attempt are preparing to register for higher secondary education through our sponsorship scheme.
Similarly, nine of our girls have taken the final exam for higher secondary education, and their results will be released in November. These girls are the highest level of girls we sponsor through our Girls’ Education Project in Nepal. I am hopeful again that the girls will pass the exam, and it will open the door to university and many more opportunities in their lives.
Now, thirty-nine girls remain in the scheme, having successfully advanced to the next class. We have provided a set of books, notebooks, a pen, pencils, a school bag, a calculator, a geometry box, and a bicycle, all required for their curriculum. Additionally, twenty new girls have been selected to join the scheme, and they will begin receiving the support from the second week of August 2025.
So far this year, we will be providing our support to sixty-three girls, plus the girls who will pass the chance exam. We will be needing £7,250 ($9,675) in total to keep the girls in school this year, and so far, secured funding is £4,500 only. Please help us to fundraise the deficit amount of £2,750 by giving whatever you can afford.
