Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Guyana's academic schedule remains a bit delayed. Convocation ceremonies for 2021 graduates were held in February 2022, and the spring semester just wrapped up in July.
We are highlighting the two SAGE Scholars who completed their studies in 2021 and participated in February's ceremonies: Reuel and Tejyas.
Reuel became a SAGE Scholar in 2016 and studied Electrical Engineering. In describing his experience Reuel said, "Being a SAGE scholar is a dream come true. I am forever grateful to SAGE [for] the contributions you made towards me; I cannot express enough." Reuel is now employed as a Field Engineer with VNet Communications, which provides information and communication technology services and sustainability solutions.
Tejyas was also named a SAGE Scholar in 2016 and studied Civil with Environmental Engineering. According to Tejyas, "Being a SAGE scholar was truly an honor. I consider myself to be very fortunate and it really means a lot to me." Tejyas is currently pursuing an online master's in Construction Technology and Management at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
We wish these two talented young engineers the best as they begin their careers and work to put their passion for science and technology into action.
