Child Unit Of The Heart is our Dream

The Child Unit of the Heart began as a dream, which in 2015 was taking shape. The first step was when the doctors and specialists were prepared for the children with heart disease attention, later in 2016 it began to receive donations of many people and companies that wanted to be part of the team to make beat hundreds of hearts in Colombia.
In 2017 we carried around 40 children operated and all of them have come out successful from our hospital, each child can have a better quality of life thanks to your continuous commitment and your valuable voluntary contributions.
In 2018 there will be more faces and hearts beating if you are still part of our team.

Tomas's heartbeat are strong again.

Tomás is a 7 month old boy born in Medellín, lives with his mother, his grandparents and his older brother. From the first months of his life, he presented irregularities in the functioning of his heart, so he underwent an echocardiography and because of his diagnosis he now receives care and treatment from the professionals of the University Hospital San Vicente Foundation.
The mother of the child placed her trust in the specialists for the attention of the beautiful Tomás, who from the first moment received integral and humanized treatment, added to the opportunity to count on the quality and professionalism of the Hospital.
With a duration of 8 hours and 27 days of hospitalization, the intervention was considered as the most complex surgery performed so far in the Child Unit of the Heart. Today, we are happy to say that Tomás returned home with his brother and his family, who fully trusted that Thomas's heart would beat again thanks to the Hospital and the Child Unit of the Heart that with your support this year will begin the construction of the physical area.

Santiago and his stepmother's is beating together
From Istmina, Chocó, a small town at the Pacific Coast of Colombia, poor and afar from the big cities, there arrived to San Vicente Foundation Hospital young Santiago, whom at 10 years of age received an open heart surgery due to a major complication due to an infection. Santiago is deeply loved by his stepmother with whom he's lived since 2 years of age, and has been a key part in his quick recovery. Her love and support has been a major reason for him to succeed.
Santiago was very fortunate to receive a unique opportunity to save his heart and in turn, his life in a timely manner. Due to this, Santiago can still follow his dream of one day becoming a professional Football player.
