We had a great day in Argua, Honduras. A small mountain village consisting of 97 families. We have done many clinics in this remote mountainous town and because of the water supply being contaminated, they always require alot of care.
On this particular day we were able to take the preventive approach. This is a nice change of pace. Sawyer water filters were given to each family in the community center and given a class on how to assemble and care for the water filters to produce the longest life possible. These carbon filters are able to catch everything down to 1 micron. A far imporvement to the water they are forced to drink daily.
Everyone was excited to learn and completely blown away when I drank the filtered water in front of the group. It really was not in the planned education but they did not look convinced until I drank it myself. Thanks to donations from Global giving we are able to continue projects like this one to improve life here in the out back.
Have a great day.
