Our goal is to introduce a Drive, Chip, and Putt program as part of our efforts to help 10,000 Bahamian children in Nassau engage with golf directly at their schools. By integrating this concept into sports day activities and other school events, we aim to make golf accessible and fun for students of all skill levels. No prior experience is necessary, and the activity serves as a low-pressure, engaging introduction to the game, creating opportunities for students to develop an early interest in golf.
This initiative also includes a fundraising component, allowing schools to benefit directly from student participation. For every child who participates in the Drive, Chip, and Putt program, the initiative can donate a set amount towards school resources or programs. This approach encourages broad participation, incentivizes student involvement, and strengthens the connection between the program and schools, while simultaneously supporting local education initiatives.
We have already connected with several public primary schools and private high schools in Nassau to implement this program. This broad reach ensures that children of different ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to experience golf in a structured yet playful environment. By targeting students who may not have had exposure to golf previously, we are creating a pathway for greater participation in junior golf and nurturing the next generation of Bahamian golfers.
The timing of this initiative builds on the success of our recent School Golf Championships, held March 2nd–6th, which featured over 500 rounds of junior golf. Many new players discovered the sport through the championships, and the Drive, Chip, and Putt program is the natural next step to sustain that interest. By embedding golf directly into the school environment, we aim to continue growing the sport in Nassau and provide 10,000 local students with meaningful, accessible opportunities to practice and enjoy golf.
