If needed, they receive help to ensure their most basic needs for food and shelter are being met. Many of these children come from poor families or have no parents at all. Living in extreme poverty is such a struggle, so an education often seems impossible.

Deepika is a 6-year-old girl who lost both of her parents. Her father died in a road accident and her mother died from a heart attack. Orphaned at young age, Deepika felt alone and afraid of what would happen to her. She could have been forced to work in the fields or some other bonded labor. Many of the children who are trafficked are those whose parents have died or they have been abandoned.

Deepika had no one to care for her until she was taken to our children’s home. Thankfully, she is now living in a loving environment and she’s getting all her basic needs covered. Deepika is going to school and she loves being in the 3rd grade. She is getting an education that is giving her an opportunity to learn and grow. She receives nutritious meals and enjoys the benefits of a caring and loving home.
