This appeal is launched in response to help the 500 families of Cholistan affected by Drought in May 2022. Through your financial assistance AWARD intends to serve the most vulnerable families with food and water supply in this crucial time. Thousands of people along with their cattle has been experiencing worst condition of drought and scarcity of water and food in Cholistan as adequate rains did not fall for long time. However, a large number of people are seeking for help in the harsh summers
Water and food scarcity is the main problem in Cholistan desert. Having worst drought this year, people have been facing multiple problems i-e; mortality of cattle, malnutrition, shortage of water,poor quality drinking water and poor sanitation. Over the last 15 days, 50-100 sheep, goats, cows and camels have died in Cholistan after experiencing worst conditions. Not only they have become miserable, but they and their children are suffering from several diseases i-e Cholera, Diarrhea, gastro etc
AWARD intends to serve the most 500 vulnerable affected families of Cholistan with food packages according to Sphere Standards and clean drinking water for them and their cattle (for 2 weeks, at least). AWARD has a vast experience to respond in emergency situations as it had served in 15,460 families in the Earthquake of 2005 in District Mansehra (KPK), Flood of 2010 in District Muzaffargarh and in COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.
1) Survival of the families living in Cholistan Desert. 2) Health of children improved due to provision of food and water.
