Happy New Year and a Massive Thank You For Your Support

By Liphethiso Monica Harris | Project Leader

Dear Supporters of Educare Fund

We wish all our donors a very Happy New Year. Together, let’s look forward to a peaceful and prosperous 2017.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank you all for supporting Educare Fund over the years and especially for campaigns during the past year.  I would like to extend a special welcome to our new donors who supported us for the first time during 2016, including those who contributed to the #GivingTuesday and Year End campaigns. Since 1997, your generous donations have collectively helped more than 100 girls complete high school and go on to improve their lives even further. This would not have been possible without your very kind contributions. We have shared some information about the achievements of those beneficiaries we have traced so far and we continue to look out for more. We will share more stories as we go along. Your investment in ‘Help educate 40 bright girls in Lesotho’ will make a huge difference to the lives of these girls for generations to come. A unique donor who anonymously donated a four-digit amount during deserves a special mention. Thank you so much! Your very generous gift is highly appreciated.

Feedback from our beneficiaries continues to shed more light on the huge difference your donations make to the girls and their families even before they finish high school. They highlight small changes like the fact that with some of the fees covered by the award, the family is then able to afford a packed lunch for the girl. Difficulty affording school fees understandably runs along other needs, which can have a further negative impact on the girls’ education.

Mpolokeng wrote:

You have lightened my family’s financial burden such that I am now able to focus on my studies without forever worrying about being laid off school. Now my performance at school has definitely improved. As it happens, the award from Educare Fund is the only money paid to the school this year and is the only reason I am still able to attend (the family was not able to pay anything the previous year)!

Puleng further illustrates the amazing effect your support has had.

She writes:

I would like to thank you for paying school fees for me. Without you I would be sitting at home and not attending school like other kids. Your generosity is enabling me to work toward a better future than would have been possible without your help.

Many more beneficiaries have made comments similar to those quoted here. You can rest assured that your donations are making a huge difference to these young lives.

Allow me to reiterate our own ‘thank you’ to you all for helping Educare Fund to work with you to support the young women in their quest  to change their lives and improve their communities for generations to come.  We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2017 and beyond.

Warm regards

Liphethiso Monica
