Gili Trawangan Pony Rescue Update
Over the past few weeks, we’ve continued to care for the rescued ponies on Gili Trawangan, and while progress is being made, there are still some ongoing challenges.
Several of the ponies are currently being treated for bruised hooves, caused by prolonged exposure to the sharp coral surfaces around the beach. This can be extremely uncomfortable for them, so we are focusing on rest, protective care, and close monitoring to ensure proper healing.
In addition, this unusually wet and rainy season has had a noticeable impact on the island. With fewer visitors, income has dropped significantly, which directly affects our ability to fund daily care, feed, and medical treatment for the ponies.
Despite this, our team continues to show up every day to ensure the animals are safe, comfortable, and recovering.
During this time, donations are more important than ever. Every contribution goes directly towards hoof care, nutrition, and essential veterinary support, and makes a real difference to the lives of these ponies.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us give these animals the care they deserve.
