For 10 years, Green Shoots has been able to partner with the Blue Jay Farms. Blue Jay are a group of fruit farms across the Western Cape.
Through the generous support of the farmers, each Blue Jay Farm has been set up with a small media centre and youth facilitator so that children who live on the farm are able to continue to study after school. One of their favourite things to do is Maths Curriculum Online (MCO)!!
Learners come from back home to the farms from their school and are able to continue (& improve on) the exercises that they have been completing in school using MCO
The Blue Jay Farms learners have been working so hard, that 4 of them were placed in the top 10 for their grade across the Province in our recent Mental Maths Competition (with over 4, 600 entrants). This is an amazing achievement and testament to their commitment and the support of all at the farms.
Thank you so much for your donations that allow us to support learners to achieve in Maths, not just in school but also at their home on small farms across the Province. Your support is making a difference for these learners!!
