Rescue And Positivity During These Uncertain Times

Hello again!

Let me first begin by sending you and your loved ones our sincerest hope for your health and safety amidst this global pandemic. We truly appreciate your donation (either one-time or recurring) to our rescue efforts, as we know these times are uncertain and scary.

All of our volunteers have been notified to remain home and safe, but our work continues. Wild urban parrots still need to be rescued, and we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our staff while still providing the best level of care to our rescued patients. We are bracing for baby season, which typically begins for us at the end of May and gets really busy by mid-June. All we can do is take every day as it comes, and hope things will be easier to navigate by then!

On a bright note, we received a patient into rescue a couple of days ago from one of our local beach communities. It was dropped off with our local wildlife rescue, and they notified us immediately. Upon exam, the adult Lilac-crowned Amazon did not have any injuries or issues of note. We decided to give him/her 24 hours' observation time, and then a quick flight test. S/he passed with flying colors (please forgive the pun, it has been a loooong few weeks), and was successfully released back into the urban wild the following afternoon.

It is all thanks to your continued financial support that we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and successfully release wild parrots back into their urban environment.

I'll keep this one short, and remind you to please follow/subscribe to our social media channels for new content daily. (It might be a nice, different way to break things up a bit if you are currently stuck at home. Puzzles and Netflix can only last you so long.)We are also providing updates on our new enclosure project, which is nearly completed! Next quarter, you can look forward to a full report of how we are settling into the new spot.

Stay healthy and safe!

Sincerely,

Sarah
