Sharing love, one meal at a time

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Sponsor,

Greetings from El Shaddai and we bring to you our latest report on our Food Relief services.

India is known as the world’s largest food producer, feeding hungry families. Ironically, the country is also home to the largest number of hungry people going to bed every night empty stomach. India also has one-third of the world’s malnourished children. Our organization works to eradicate hunger and malnutrition by feeding hungry, homeless children and individuals. These efforts aim to provide meals and support to those who are underprivileged homeless and unable to afford a meal.

We serve meals to 700 Individuals and 500 children daily. Meals are neatly packed in food containers and served near the railway stations, bus stands and markets. With the support of kind-hearted individuals like you, we have been able to serve 2.1 million meals thus far. These feeding programs not only save lives but also aim to change futures by helping people build resilience and overcome the ravages of hunger. The ultimate goal is to work towards a world with zero hunger, addressing the challenges posed by conflict, climate change, disasters, and inequality.

We have a story of a little boy who comes to our Daycare shelter. If you see this boy now, you will never believe the way he was before he came to us. Mehul (name changed) was a malnourished little boy. His family migrated to the state of Goa in search of a better life. But life is sometimes unpredictable and things did not go out as planned. There were no proper shelter facilities, food and clothing. This family often went to sleep on a hungry stomach. On one of the visits by our El Shaddai staff, this little boy was noticed eating from a garbage bin. This sight broke our staff's heart and he was immediately taken to our shelter. He was enrolled in our feeding programme and education. It’s been three months, and he is now in this Shelter. He glows on his face, and a cheerful smile and is healthy and no longer malnourished.

We want to reach out to more and more people and help put an end to “Hunger” and this can be accomplished with your love and support. We express our deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation towards this wonderful cause. Your belief in our cause is a testament to the positive impact we are striving to make, and we are committed to utilizing your donation to its fullest potential.

Thanking you

Sincerely

El Shaddai Family!
