It is interesting how a “simple” idea can start to grow on its own. About two years ago we spoke with the Ministry of Health and proposed our working with them and our building a clinic to replace one that was destroyed by the Napo River in 2020. We raised funding and about 95% of the construction of the new facility is finished. But there have been many changes from what we originally planned plus this initiative has drawn other organizations to our area to participate in our health program. One of those is a program where a team of doctors and technicians are visiting families throughout the area to do a health analysis of all the members of the family including taking blood and other samples and doing an in-depth evaluation of their health. We are also working with another program where we will be able to offer operations in one of the finest hospitals in the country in Quito to children from 0 to 18 years of age. This program will provide 80% financing for an operation, including everything. We will have to work with the family to raise the remaining 20% but it is our hope that our presence in social media will help get the word out and help raise this balance. But all of this fits into the clinic construction because we will need to provide an examining room for a doctor to do an evaluation of a child’s condition that needs an operation. We have the space in the new facility. Thank you for your support to help make all of this become a reality.
