A difficult beginning should not determine the rest of a young mother’s life. Many teenage mothers we encounter have experienced interrupted education, family rejection, financial hardship, and uncertainty about what comes next. Our Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers Program is designed to create a second chance.
F SSIBU Mission Foundation is working with more than 120 teenage mothers in communities including Ksmuli, Mwanyagiri, and Kirinya. We focus on helping them regain confidence while developing practical pathways toward greater independence.
Through mentorship and counselling, young mothers can receive encouragement as they navigate motherhood and the challenges that followed early pregnancy. Reproductive health education helps them access information that can support healthier decisions and reduce the risk of repeated unintended pregnancy. Family engagement is also important because acceptance and support can significantly influence a young mother’s ability to rebuild her life.
Practical skills are another important part of our approach. Opportunities in tailoring, hairdressing, electrical engineering, crafts, and modern farming can equip young mothers with skills they may use to pursue income-generating activities.
This work requires sustained partnership. Donor contributions can help provide training materials, mentorship, counselling, livelihood support, and assistance for young mothers and their children.
A second chance can begin with something as simple as a skill, a caring mentor, or someone willing to believe in a young mother’s potential. Your support can help us create those opportunities and restore futures that deserve another beginning.
