Thank you—we can’t say it enough! Because of your generosity, people affected by Hurricane Beryl have been able to access essential supplies, including food, fuel, and clean water, and begin rebuilding their communities.

The Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund has powered 19 grants to community-led nonprofit organizations on the front lines  of this crisis. A full list of nonprofits receiving  grants from the Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund can be found at the end of this report.

Here is a short description of some of the critical work you’ve supported:

  • GrenCHAPworks to improve access to sexual and reproductive health services for  marginalized groups deeply impacted by the storm in Grenada, such as people living with STIs, sex workers, and the LGBTQ+ community. The organization provides these services through mobile clinics to reach people most in need of care. Additionally, GrenCHAP is addressing the mental health challenges brought on by the disaster, offering support via a mobile helpline and creating safe spaces for women and girls to recover and rebuild.
  • Target Hunger operates food pantries across Houston and is continuing to distribute nutritious food, water, and essential supplies to communities impacted by the hurricane. Through their Navigation Program, the organization is connecting impacted families with additional resources, including utility assistance, housing, and employment opportunities.
  • Redroot SVGis a nonprofit organization in St. Vincent and Grenadines that provides social services and mental health support to women and children impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Gender-based violence frequently increases in disaster settings, and Redroot SVG quickly mobilized resources in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl to assist with reconstruction projects, distribute food baskets, and support livelihood restoration for women. The organization continues to support long-term community resilience and is currently working to open safe spaces for women and children and enhance access to its food pantries.
  • Blue Atlas focuses  on providing equitable emergency relief, with a proven record of supporting communities throughout the Caribbean. Following Hurricane Beryl, Blue Atlas Distributed food and cooking supplies, water tanks, and emergency tarps to impacted areas in Carriacou and Grenada. Looking ahead, the organization is committed to supporting the region through the recovery process,  working to establish sustainable agriculture hubs and strengthen livelihoods for farmers and fishers

Your support of the GlobalGiving Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund is advancing community-led recovery efforts like these, and it means communities across Jamaica, Texas, Venezuela, and other impacted areas can access the critical resources they need to recover.

This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. We hope you’ll stay in touch!

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
