Educate Street Children in El Salvador

Joselyn is a young lady who is 17 years old.  She grew up into a disintegrated home having her mother as the only support.  Her mother works making tortillas earning around $ .200.00 a month.  The money that the mother makes has to fulfill the needs of all the family which is very difficult for her to provide everything they need, including education and food.

Joselyn and her older brother have more than eight years of being part of Asociación Nuestros Ahijados.  After the father left the house and stopped caring for them, they didn’t have any choice of moving forward.  When Asociación Nuestros Ahijados met them immediately decided to take care of them and give them the opportunity of keep going and continue studying.

The older brother is now 22 years old and thanks to the support of Asociación Nuestros Ahijados he was able to complete his studies in middle school and he is now attending the third year in the Faculty of Mathematics.  Next year he will be finishing his studies.

 Joselyn is very creative and she likes to participate in all the activities at her school, she is one of the highest averages and also belongs to the school band.  After school she helps with the duties of the house and helps to sell tortillas to earn some money and have an extra income and help her mother.

Asociación Nuestors Ahijados in El Salvador has supported them with food (rice and beans), as well as a monthly scholarship and other services provided by our project.  Their housing conditions were not good but thanks to the support of our donors and benefactors, Asociación  Nuestros Ahijados provided them with a dignify house and built a house for them.

 The young lady is very happy to belong to Asociación Nuestros Ahijados, she dreams every day to be better and to get out of the poverty they are currently facing.  She is always saying how grateful she is to have this opportunity and with all the donors who trust in this project and cares for them and her family. 

Manuel is bright 12 year old boy who comes from a very low-income family. His father abandoned the family so Manuel now lives with his mother and 3 siblings in Guazapa, El Salvador. Manuel's mother works selling tortillas and Manuel helps by bringing ingredients home to make them. The sales of her tortillas are the only income the family receives leaving them to survive on just $50 a month. Because of their great need The GOD'S CHILD Project decided to help the children with a monthly scholarship and food and in 2010 the Project helped the family with the construction of a new home because their living conditions were so poor.

Manuel has received a scholarship from The GOD'S CHILD Project to help him pay for school since for 6 years now. Despite his young age he is a very responsible young man and has a great desire to improve his living situation and help his mother and siblings in the future so they can have a better life. He is very dedicated to his studies because he knows that an education is key to reaching these goals. He says "I want to do well in school so that I can get a good job when I grow up and can help my family."
