Greetings.
This is a brief update on our work for you.
One of our girls is now studying for a bachelors degree. It is beyond her thinking that this could ever happen for her, but she is excited by this and is working away very nicely. We have three others who are on the cusp of completing high school. Again, these are young women who never thought that this would be possible. So, again, thank you so very much for your wonderful financial support.
Our premises are quite big. We are wondering what we may do with them, and, at the same time, thinking about how we might find employment that is meaningful and safe for our girls. To this end, we have been talking to a New Zealand based businessman as to whether he may be interested to partner with us in the production of certain items that he commonly sells throughout New Zealand. Our minds are going towards how we can teach some of our girls sewing - to a quality standard - and silk screen printing. This could be longer term employment for our girls who are not quite up to study beyond high school.
This gentleman already supports our work and so he and his wife have a heart for the sort of thing that we do. I hope to explore this further over the next month or so.
I am planning to return to India oerhaps in July.
Until then, thanks you so much for your support in caring for young women who could otherwise have fallen through the cracks in society.
