Support Learning centres for slum Children- India

Greetings and good wishes to you from BASS After school Learning centres, Guntur, India!

Thank you for your kind support and partnership in this project. We are herewith sharing the progress report of the project, but we have failed to raise funds for this project to improve the standards of the centres.

I am very happy to inform you that BASS is operating three after school learning (Tuition) centres for slums children with expert qualified teachers. These centres are operating during the evenings after children come from the school at 6.00 to 8.00 P.M. For two hours in the evening, children can simply be children here – and learn something.

150 children are attending these three slum locations in Guntur city. After school Evening learning centres give the children a best of education, catch-up basic education, as a prerequisite for a self-determined life. They learn everyday knowledge, social skills and self-esteem. The teachers are also coming from the local area and they interact well with children and motivate and teach all subjects for the improvement of best performance in their class studies and also learning with good behaviours and life skills. 

We are very happy to inform you that our children are well performing at regular formal schools with good progress in all subjects. And also child labour is stopped in the areas with the best interventions of the BASS Volunteers and centre teachers. 

Most of the slum children families are doing daily wage work in Guntur city and some of the families do not have electricity in their huts, so children are very happy to complete their home works at our after schools learning centres.  

At present the academic last quarter is running and children are going to write their annual year end exams in April 2023.  After school learning centers are needed for the slum children to improve their education.  

These children's families are very poor and do not have sufficient income to provide good nutrient meals to the children, but It is very difficult for us  to give at least nutritional snacks or an evening meal to the children with less resources.  

I request you to kindly help this project to provide salaries to the centre teachers and evening meal to the children 

One centre needs at least $ 350 per a month. Please join with us to help children in need
