Support Learning centres for slum Children- India

Thank you so much for your kind generous support this project, the BASS After School Learning Centres in Guntur, India. 

Our project, which has been active on GlobalGiving for one year, is dedicated to providing quality education and essential life skills to underprivileged children aged 5 to 18 years in three slums within Guntur. We currently operate three after-school learning centres, staffed by expert and qualified teachers. These dedicated educators assist the children with their homework, teach various subjects, and serve as mentors, nurturing their self-esteem and social development.

Thanks to your generous contributions, we have been able to impact the lives of 150 children through this initiative. Their progress has been remarkable, and we are proud of their achievements. As the 2024 academic year commenced after the summer vacation (from April 30th to June 12th), all the children successfully completed their annual exams and were promoted to the next grade. Their educational standards have improved significantly, and their attendance in regular schools has also seen positive growth.

Even during the summer holidays, when some children visited relatives or other family members, we continued operating the learning centres. We provided a brief 10-day break during this period. Now, with the new academic year underway, we are excited to welcome new children to our centres, and our dedicated teachers are effectively managing the operations.

However, sustaining our efforts requires financial support. The funds are essential for covering centre rents, educational materials, staff remuneration, and nutritious snacks or meals for the children. Each centre requires a minimum of $350 per month to function smoothly.
