"Life capital" for blind youth

Thanks to the joint efforts of our team, the participants of the first two stages of the game, and your support, we have successfully implemented the two previous stages of this project.

During the reporting period, we received valuable feedback from participants, which we are taking into account when preparing for the third stage of the project.

We have improved the tactile field of the game:

- redesigned the marking of the "Start" field to make it easier to distinguish from others;

- modernized the design of game chips with the same purpose;

- replaced the color palette of the fields to improve contrast and convenience of visual perception for visually impaired players.

Our team of developers and typhlopedagogical specialists continue to develop an adaptive website that allows blind participants of the game to fully interact with the game processes - read cards, fill in and analyze game statistics, and work with the player's legend.

In preparation for the next stage, we significantly improved the interface and fixed a number of shortcomings that negatively affected the work of screen readers.

One of the important improvements was the separation of logic for the host and the player. This is a significant step towards inclusion, because now blind participants can not only participate in the game as players, but also conduct games independently, tracking the progress of other participants.

We believe that all these changes will help us achieve our goals.

The “Life Capital” project team - for blind youth.

We are on the path to realizing our dream.

The topic of finances and their proper management is of great interest to modern youth. Financial literacy is not yet a mandatory subject in school, however, 65.2% of schoolchildren speak about the need to teach financial literacy. On the one hand, we see that there is a pronounced interest on the part of young people in knowledge in the field of personal finance management, and on the other hand, blind youth cannot always find this knowledge in an accessible everyday form.

Thanks to your support, in March 2025, our youth team was able to implement the second stage of our project “Life Capital” for blind youth. During the second stage of the project, 25 participants from different cities of Ukraine continued to work on adapting the game “Life Capital” for youth with severe visual impairments.

The youth team of our project did a lot of creative work on adapting the playing field and creating computer programs that will allow blind players to be independent.

The project leaders worked on instructions for computer programs for players, created the “Life Capital” website.

Now it’s time for the third stage - the implementation of the project’s ideas.

During the 3rd stage, our version of the “Life Capital” game will be tested and training will be held to train leaders to create clubs where young people with severe visual impairments will be able to practice financial literacy skills in a safe format that will be useful to them in real life.

Young people with visual impairments will learn new financial literacy tools. For example, participants will determine their own financial goals, draw up a savings plan, analyze where to place funds, organize a personal budget, and consider investment opportunities.

This is especially important for our country at this stage, when creative young people will be needed for its reconstruction after the war.
