Did someone say the C word?

Last year’s festivities began with a beautiful Christmas service at St. Paul's Cathedral, followed by a party at the girls' transit house. All the children from our four sites gathered together to celebrate. Sharing a festive meal, opening gifts, and laughing together gave these children a true sense of family, a rare and magical break from the hardships of street life.
We are already thinking about our festive planning to ensure this Christmas is just as special. Bringing the children together from all four sites requires coordination, transport, and resources.
The funds donated by you are vital to making these celebrations possible, ensuring every child in our care experiences the warmth and joy of the season. Your continued support enables us to keep creating these unforgettable moments of belonging. Thank you for making their festive season bright!

Christmas Dinner at the Day Centre
Hi, Thank you so much for your financial support for this Kimbilio Project. Christmas is the time of year when families get together to celebrate and gifts are given and received so, for children living on the streets, they feel particularly alone and unloved. Kimbilio has, for many years, tried to make Christmas special for these young children and it is lovely to see the smiles on their faces as they experience the generosity that Kimbilio can provide through your donations.
At Christmas 2025, the children who come to the Day Centre were greeted with a big lunch (see photo above) followed by games and presents. The children forgot the hardship of daily living on the streets and enjoyed a really good time. The children at the four Kimbilio houses were also given a special meal followed by presents and games. The photo below tells the story!

Only 39 Days to Christmas

Christmas at the Day Centre
Hi, as I write this, there are only 39 days to Christmas! The shops are now full of Christmas goodies and families are starting to plan their Christmas activities. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Christmas is a difficult time for children living on the streets. It is a time when they particularly miss the love of their families and they feel the isolation of their situation.
Thank you so much for your financial support for this Kimbilio Project which aims to bring the joy and excitement of Christmas to these young children and ensure that they feel loved and special. The Kimbilio team of carers in Lubumbashi will be again providing a Christmas dinner at the Day Centre plus games and presents for the streed children. Each of the four Kimbilio houses where many street children stay on a short-term basis will also be putting a special lunch with games and presents. It really is heart-warming to see the joy on the faces of the children.
So your donations will enable these young children to enjoy Christmas and to feel loved and special. Thank you!
