The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a pressing threat across the globe. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of communities and local populations, but it remains clear that those who are most at risk of contracting the virus are those most vulnerable. This includes people living with HIV and those who are immunocompromised, as well as those who do not have access to proper healthcare.
Mali greatly lacks the widespread health infrastructure required to combat such a large-scale pandemic. According to the World Health Organization, as of September 26, 2022, Mali remains in the mid-blue zone when it comes to COVID cases. This means that within the country there are currently between 5,000-50,000 cases, with the actual report standing at roughly 32,000. The CDC has loosened its entry guidelines, rating Mali low on the COVID-19 scale, but continues to assert the importance and requirement of increased vaccinations.
According to the World Health Organization, there have been just shy of 3 million doses of the vaccine distributed. However, Mali’s population sits at around 20 million. GAIA Vaccine Foundation understands the pressing need to protect those who are most at risk, and has created the Mali Clinic Supplies to Protect Against COVID-19 program to continue to supply aid. GAIA Vaccine Foundation is working with doctors at Hope Center Clinic in Mali to implement preventative measures, but now more than ever is looking towards donations to supply the proper healthcare equipment. For just $10, you would be supplying a box of gloves. For just $25, you would be supplying a box of masks. For $80, you would be supplying a consistent amount of disinfectant to help protect our doctors and patients. Thank you for your support to GAIA Vaccine Foundation!
